In this semester, the kids listened to and sang the song “Singin’ in the rain”, by Gene Kelly. The students developed many activities, always using their creativity and commitment. For example, after watching the music clip, the students created elements like an umbrella, a heart, the singer Gene Kelly, clouds, the sun, a storm and so on.

They also developed their favorite parts using playdough and, at the end, they rehearsed with their umbrella along with the activities.

Nesse semestre, as crianças tiveram como objetivo ouvir e cantar a música “Singin’ in the rain”, de Gene Kelly. Os alunos desenvolveram muitas atividades, usando sempre criatividade e empenho. Por exemplo, após assistir ao clipe da música, os alunos criaram elementos como: guarda chuva, coração, o cantor Gene Kelly, nuvem, Sol, trovão entre outros. Desenvolveram também sua parte preferida usando massinha de modelar e, no final, ensaiaram usando o guarda-chuva juntamente com as atividades criadas.

And that’s how our bilingual classes get started! With lots of music, dance and super fun games – from memory games inside the classroom to catch on the court!

Reading circle: We’re going on a bear hunt

Since the beginning, the students are used to read several books in the reacing circle. First, the teacher explores the cover’s pictures and the title, then she dives into the magical world of literature. “We’re going on a bear hunt”, by Michael Rosen, is the funny story about a family that walks through different places on the hunt for a bear. The students enjoyed a lot the story and they learned the rhymes and the onomatopoeias that are in the book.

Círculo de leitura: We’re going on a bear hunt

Desde o primeiro semestre os alunos estão acostumados a ler diversos livros no círculo de leitura. Primeiro a professora explora as figuras da capa e o título para então entrar no mundo mágico da literatura escolhida. “We’re going on a bear hunt”, escrito por Michael Rosen, conta a divertida história de uma família que passa por diversos locais até encontrar o urso que tanto procuram. Os alunos se divertiram com a história e aprenderam as rimas e as onomatopeias presentes no livro.

After that, the teacher hid the eggs and they went on an Egg Hunt. It was a great way to both learn English and celebrate Easter just like children do in many countries.
